Title: Senior Environmental Scientist/Permit Coordinator
Position involves general biological/ecological consulting services, including technical support of environmental restoration and land development projects. Typical projects include environmental permit applications for roads and bridges; wetland mitigation plans and monitoring; threatened and endangered species management; natural resource mapping; and Everglades restoration projects. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing technical documents (e.g., Environmental Impact Statements, Wetland Evaluation Reports, ESBAs), permit applications, wetland delineations, meeting with clients to define scope of services and negotiate contract pricing, coordinating with regulatory agencies, project management, and business development. Position is based in our corporate headquarters in Fort Lauderdale. Salary $65,000 to $85,000 depending on level of relevant experience and skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications: B.S. (M.S. preferred) in a natural science (e.g., biology, environmental studies); 10+ years relevant experience; experience with preparing environmental permit applications, ability to delineate wetlands, excellent verbal and written communication skills; customer and quality oriented. Experience with Florida ecosystems. The following are desired but not required: experience with NEPA, PD&E, and ETDM processes; ArcView/GIS capabilities; experience with seagrass mapping; and SCUBA certification.
