Keith and Schnars is actively seeking a structural bridge engineer with 5-15 years of experience to work in the Ft. Lauderdale office.  The candidate will design bridges and related transportation structures (retaining walls, sign structures, miscellaneous structures) using applicable software. 
Responsibilities
   • Perform and check bridge design and analysis computations
   • Prepare construction plans for bridges and other transportation related
      structures using MicroStation.
   • Develop contract documents such as specifications and review of construction
     documents such as shop drawings or contractor requests
   • Perform bridge inspections & load ratings
   • Coordinate work activities and provide guidance to supporting staff

Requirements
   • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
   • Florida Registered PE
   • Minimum 10 years of experience working as a structural design engineer on
      bridge projects
   • Minimum of 5 years of structural design experience in continuous span steel
      bridges
   • Experience with ASD, LFD and LRFD concrete and steel design 
   • Experience with design and plan development for FDOT is required
   • Proficient with , MDX, Conspan, RC Pier, FDOT structural design programs
     and Microsoft Office XP (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
   • Must be proficient with Microstation
   • Detail oriented with strong skills in structural analysis, steel design and
     concrete design as it relates to transportation structures
   • Diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas
      related to bridge design; Geotechnical/Foundations design, Substructure
      design and Superstructure design
   • Diversified knowledge of technology, materials, equipment, design concepts
      and construction techniques
